75-year-old woman murdered in Sarjapur

In a dastardly act, an old woman was beaten to death with sticks at her residence under the Sarjapur Police Station jurisdiction by a group of masked men. Police recognised the deceased as Muniamma, 75, a vegetable vendor and resident of Ward 6 on Kote Road.

The incident took place on Saturday morning when a few miscreants entered her house and brutally attacked her until she died. Later, the deceased’s foster daughter who had seen the incident take place because she was at home ran to the police to seek help.

The authorities say that there was no sign of theft as the jewellery and cash was intact and nothing valuable was found missing. One of the accused has been arrested and the cops are laying traps to catch them. A case has been registered at the Sarjapur Police Station and further investigation is underway
