HDK blames BJP govt for pothole-related mishaps

Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Monday blamed the BJP-led state government for an accident in which a woman was injured near the Lulu Mall in Okalipuram, allegedly due to a pothole.
He alleged that cities across the state had been plagued by potholes, especially after a monsoon that had witnessed an extraordinary volume of rain. He added that the accident near Lulu Mall had “tarnished the reputation of the state.”
“It’s true that it rained. However, it didn’t just rain in Karnataka. This government did not make adequate preparations for the rain. It rains every year in Odisha, among other states, where there was no danger. Everything is fixed by the government there immediately. Such work is not being done here. Money is being siphoned off in the name of covering up potholes,” Kumaraswamy said.
