3,511 penalised for tickeless travel

Bengaluru: The checking staff of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has intensified checking of buses operated in and around Bangalore to detect ticketless travelling by the passengers.

During the month of September, the staff had checked 19440 trips and penalised 3511 ticketless passengers.

The collection of the penalty amount was a total of Rs 6,38,350 and 1615 c a s e s we r e b o o ke d against conductors for their dereliction of duty
