Pregnant teacher commits suicide

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a private school teacher who was four months pregnant, was found dead in the apartment she shared with her husband in Puttenahalli in the city.

The deceased was allegedly a victim of domestic abuse and violence, according to the police, who said her family wants to create awareness about her death so that it does not happen in other households too.

The deceased, Niharika, worked at a school in Puttenahalli while her husband is a manager at HSBC Bank. Niharika was found hanging in her flat on Saturday. According to an investigation, she was in love with the accused and got married in June.

The cops said the accused, Karthik, was suspicious of his wife's fidelity and would allegedly abuse her. Tired of her husband's behaviour, Niharika contacted her parents and told them about the abuse
