2 teenagers nabbed for snatching mobile phones from pedestrians
Bengaluru: City police nabbed two people for allegedly robbing and selling the stolen mobile phones to earn easy money in the city. The police said that one of the accused, identified as Sajjad, would target lone pedestrians speaking on their mobile phones, especially during the night.
Approaching them, the accused would snatch their phones and flee on their mopeds. He would then hand over the stolen mobile phone to his friend, Arun, owner of a mobile service shop in Basaveshwaranagar, in exchange for cash.
Following the arrest of both Sajjad and Arun, the police detected at least four cases filed against the duo. The police recovered 11 Samsung mobile phones, 9 Vivo, 7 Redmi, 3 Oneplus, 2 Realme, 2 Poco and one each of Infinix, iphone, Nokia, Moto, Huawei Nexus, and Google Pixel, from the possession of the accused.
“Miscreants, especially the young offenders in the city have turned to robbery cases such as chain theft and mobile robbery. But what they seem to ignore is that on or the other day they will be caught and humiliated for their offence,” a police officer said. A further investigation against the accused is on.
