Bengaluru: A woman died under suspicious circumstances after falling from the second floor of a building near Gandhi Nagar during the wee hours of Thursday. The police identified the woman as Prema, 48, who had been staying alone at a rented house since she had separated from her husband two years ago.

According to the landlord, she was an employee of an IT company here. As per the statements from the landlord, Prema doesn’t usually speak with anyone much. “She used to pay her rent on time and she rarely had any guests visiting her.

She would go to work daily and come back to the house,” he said. However, on Thursday, around 12:25 a.m., Prema allegedly jumped from her house on the second floor of the building. The Yelahanka police have taken up a case and are investigating the cause of the death.

“We cannot conclude whether it is a case of suicide or a murder until the investigations are done,” a police officer told News Trail. The police have shifted the body to Yelahanka government hospital.
