2 bikers hit signboard, die

Bengaluru: Two bikers died after their two-wheeler crashed into a signboard near Rajajinagar in the city on Sunday night. The deceased were identified by the traffic police as Devaraju, 22, and Jagdish, 21. The police said that Jagdish was driving the bike while Devaraju was riding the pillion. The incident took place at around 11:45 pm when the duo was on the way to Tumakuru via Sumanahalli.
Later, speaking to News Trail, an official from Rajajinagar traffic police station said that the duo was overspeeding despite being under the influence of alcohol while driving, which led to the driver losing control and crashing into a signboard near Laggere flyover.
Following the incident, Jagdish died on the way while being shifted to KC General hospital. Devaraj who had suffered grievous injuries died at a private hospital later. A case has been taken up by the traffic police regarding the incident
