JD(S)’ Pancharatna Ratha Yatre: Rain plays spoilsport
NT Correspondent
Kolar: Rains played spoil sport at the proposed ‘Pancharathna’ yathre by the JD(S) in Mulbagal on Tuesday. The party has taken up the yatre as part of its preparations for the 2023 Assembly elections but decided to postpone the event following incessant rains.
The party had decided to launch its campaign from Kurudumale situated at Mulbagal also known as Moodalabagilu(Eastern door) of the State. Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said the party would wait for the weather to improve before taking a call on holding the programme.
Criticizing the BJP government for trying to poach on TRS legislators in neighbouring Telangana, Kumaraswamy alleged that the Union Government has sent nearly 16,000 BSF personnel for security during the by-elections in Telangana.
He said the party would announce the list of nearly one hundred candidates in the next couple of days and these candidates would be asked to take a pledge to the effect that they would not fall prey to the offers if made by any other party after being elected. Rajendra Reddy, Legislator from Telangana said his party supremo K. Chandrashekar Rao has affirmed his support to JD(S) candidates in the Assembly polls.
