Bribe-accused ex-DC posted to health department

Bengaluru: In a surprise move, the State government on Monday posted former Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner (DC) J Manjunath as a special officer and ex-officio joint secretary of the health department. The Anekal native Manjunath had been arrested in a bribery case and was released on bail in September.

The other Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers who have been posted elsewhere include Shettennavar SB as MD, Hutti Gold Mines Company. Annies Kanmani Joy is now additional commissioner for Commercial Taxes (Enforcement).

Charulata Somal is the new additional resident commissioner of Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi. Basavarajendra H will join as the joint secretary of Skill Development. Kavitha S Mannikeri is now the commissioner of Karnataka Housing Board. Ravi Kumar MR is new DC of Dakshina Kannada district. Lastly, Vasanthi Amar BV is now the special DC-3 of Bengaluru Urban (North).
