Palestinian national arrested for drug peddling

Bengaluru: Bengaluru CCB AntiNarcotics Squad arrested a Palestinian national on charges of drug peddling in the city. Sources from the Yelahanka New Town police station said that the accused had obtained a student visa to enter Bengaluru city six years ago and had returned after it expired.
However, he landed in the city recently with a business visa and got involved in drug peddling along with another person from Sudan. The accused persons had rented a room and started procuring and selling narcotic substances, including MDMA crystals, at higher prices to students and IT employees in the city.
Joint Commissioner of Police, CCB (Crime), Raman Gupta said that the police seized drugs including 320 grams of MDMA crystals valued at Rs 20 lakh, from the accused person’s possession. The person from Sudan is however absconding and efforts are on to trace and nab him, police said.
