Malleswaram Kadlekai Parishe attracts crowds

Bengaluru: Close to 400 stalls and hundreds of farmers from areas surrounding the city are hosting the sixth edition of Kadalekai Parishe at Malleswaram. The three-day celebration providing the groundnut lovers in the city a variety of groundnuts to pick from along with avarekai and jaggery will  end on Monday.

The stalls have been set up on Malleswaram 11th cross to 16th cross, providing a setup for the farmers to sell their harvests. Cultural programs have also been curated to keep the large shopping crowd entertained. Although the main festival will be held at Basavanagudi on November 21, the first of the festivities beganat Malleswaram.

The Parishe officially beganat the Kadu Malleswara temple at 10:3 0 am on Satu rday. The festival is a part of the city’s culture. While the Pari she’s expectation of a massive population in attendance has been achieved, many of the regular visitors of have been disappointed with the ongoing civic works in the vicinity. The bad state of roads has hampered the visitors from strolling around and shopping.
