MLA accepts Congress leader’s challenge

Bengaluru: Yelahanka MLA S.R. Vishwanath has accepted the challenge from Congress leader Gopala Krishna to take oath in front of Lord Venkateshwara to disprove that he was behind the alleged murder plot.

After securing conditional bail on Friday, Krishna told media that the MLA himself was behind the video and audio clippings. He even challenged the MLA to disprove it by making the oath in front of Venkateshwara at Tirupati as he is the member of the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) Board.

The MLA while speaking to media outside Vidhana Soudha said that he is ready for any oath. “But Krishna will be at great risk if he comes to Tirupati as he has told that the supari killers are from Andhra Pradesh. My supporters in Andhra Pradesh are upset over Krishna’s statements that the killers are from Andhra. Instead of going there, we can go to the TTD temple in Vyalikaval to take the oath. ukuntte to give his statements about the alleged murder conspiracy. Fearing arrest, Krishna had surrendered before a court in Bengaluru rural district after which he was granted conditional bail on Friday.

It may be recalled that the video and the audio clippings about the conspiracy to eliminate the MLA by hiring contract killers had surfaced recently. Following this the government has provided security for the MLA.

The Rajanukuntte police of the Bengaluru rural district have registered a case and are further investigating.
