Bengaluru:

Often some cases are so mysterious that it is difficult for even the cops to probe the cause of death. In one such instance, a private firm employee’s death at his office on Sunday has given a sleepless night for the Bellandur police here.

Sudarshan Rao, 26, a resident of Byatarayanapura in the city had been working as a manager at a private firm near Kasavanahalli in Bellandur police station limits. On Sunday while at the office, Rao had reportedly collapsed on the floor complaining of chest pains. Immediately, while he was being rushed to the hospital by his colleagues, he stopped breathing and died within minutes.

A case was registered at the jurisdictional police station and a probe is underway. Speaking to News Trail, an officer from the police station revealed the status of the investigation done in the case so far. It was revealed that Sudarshan Rao’s office was on the third floor of a building that had a bakery on the ground floor.

On Sunday, Rao had descended the stairs to buy some cigarettes when he noticed that the bakery owner was away after leaving an unidentified person in charge of it. “The owner had been away after requesting a nearby studio owner, Ramachandra Reddy, to look after the bakery until he returned,” the officer said. Rao approached Reddy in the bakery and asked him for some cigarettes.

However, Reddy reportedly refused to sell him anything, saying that the owner was away, and advised Rao to come back after some time. Fumed at this, Rao exchanged a few heated words with Reddy and returned to the office. Later, he collapsed on the floor, holding his chest.

Alleging murder, Rao’s parents have now registered a complaint with the police and further investigation is being carried out by the cops. An officer from the team who had conducted mahazar later told News Trail that there were no injury marks on Rao’s body when it was investigated. However, the body has been sent for post-mortem analysis. “More details can be revealed only after the postmortem report,” the officer added
