Bengaluru:

Swiss Artist Jonathan O’ Hear whose work consists primarily of lumino-kinetic objects, scenographies, and stage lighting that is often experiential and tech-based, will be conducting a workshop on 'Light Design & Interactive Stage Technologies Workshop' at Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts.

The workshop is framed as a co-learning residency that encourages peer learning between professionals from various backgrounds with a diverse range of experiences. It will encourage participants to explore and find innovative ways of using stage technologies while reaffirming time-tested and existing knowledge of different types of equipment.

The workshop is structured as a two-week Stage Technology Laboratory to understand ways that technology can be used for live performance. A combination of lectures and practical exercises will help participants understand the concept of light design in conjunction with other elements of stage technologies.

The practical aspects of the course will introduce the participants to tools and methodologies such as video projection and live projection mapping, interfacing, and EEG, as well as concepts such as video as light. The workshop will culminate with a public process presentation at Rangamandala in Attakkalari Centre. This is an incredible opportunity open to theatre artists, dancers, light designers, and other professionals interested in interactive stage technologies.
