Bengaluru:
Fire and emergency service personnel in Kolar district are continuing their search operation to find the body of a 30-year-old techie from the city who is suspected to have committed suicide by jumping into a lake along with his two and a half year daughter, near Kendatti village of the district. The body of the child was recovered from the lake. But there was no trace of the child’s father. Rahul Parmar, a resident of Bagalur, had reportedly left his house to drop his daughter, Jiya Parmar, at her school.
However, the father-daughter neither reached the school nor returned home. Worried, Rahul’s wife, Bhavya Parmar had approached the Hennur police station after searching for her husband and daughter at all possible places. Later, she received a message saying that her old SIM card was activated near Kolar based on which the city police alerted their counterparts in Kolar about the matter.
The Kolar police found an abandoned car near a lake in Kendatti and following inspection, found that the car belonged to Rahul. Kolar SP D Devaraj said that the locals had stated that they were suspicious after spotting a car parked near the lake since Tuesday night. The city police said that Rahul was an IT employee in the city but had lost his job a few months ago.
Several weeks ago he had filed a police complaint alleging that several gold ornaments had been stolen from his residence. However, later it was found that he himself had pledged the ornaments in exchange for money. The police had inquired Rahul about the incident. Meanwhile, it is suspected that he might have drowned in the lake along with his child.
