Congress to protest over Hebbal flyover traffic resolution
NT Correspondent
Bengaluru:
State Congress has found a rather unorthodox way of spending the weekend as it seeks to address one of the biggest bugbears on Bengaluru roads: congestion on the Hebbal flyover. Leaders from the grand old party will stage a protest near the flyover at 10 am on Saturday. Congress leaders Krishna Byre Gowda and Byrathi Suresh will lead the protest.
The party is of the view that traffic regulation on the busy corridor has been poor, leading to snarls and a great deal of inconvenience for the commuters. Bengaluru traffic police said that over 3.7 lakh vehicles pass through Hebbal Junction daily. The incoming city traffic special police commissioner, MA Saleem made it clear that easing congestion in Hebbal was one of his priorities, adding that he welcomed solutions from savvy city residents.
“Visited Hebbal flyover and Kempapura junction to observe traffic congestion during peak hours. There is a need to reduce waiting time at this junction. Road users may suggest practical solutions to addlcptrafficbcp@gmail.com ,” he tweeted.
