Bengaluru:

Continuing its onslaught against land grabbers, the Bengaluru Development Authority on Tuesday seized 22 acres of land worth around Rs 30 crore. 22 gunte land in Alahalli survey no, 4/1 in JP Nagar 9th Phase, 1st block, belongs to the BDA. However, the encroachers were doing business by constructing temporary sheds in the said area for the past ten years.

Recently, BDA President S R Vishwanath visited the said land and other encroached areas and instructed BDA officials and engineers to immediately reclaim the land. According to the instructions, temporary sheds were cleared under the supervision of SP Nanjundegowda and other officials.

‘Criminal case against encroachers’ Vishwanath has also warned those who have managed to receive fake NOCs, and the employees who have provided them. Such fake NOC documents are now being unearthed, and investigations are being carried out.

He has warned that a criminal case will be levied against those who encroach on BDA land with the use of fake NOCs and the staff that are involved in money laundering and providing these certificates. He has called the public to bring it to the attention of the authorities of those who are encroaching BDA land and further, the needful will be done.
