Bengaluru: Inspired by the words of William Shakespeare, 'The world's a stage and all men and women are merely actors' ', Bengaluru-based architect, voice-over and theatre artiste Zafer Mohiuddin conceptualized Kathputliyaan Theatre Group along with other trustees.

This organization was formed in order to focus on addressing significant social issues that are a hindrance to the progress and peace in our society through the medium of theatre as well as promote Indian literature, Arts, Music, and Drama.

Their latest production is Pyaari Padosan, a Hindi slapstick comedy that deals with the relationship between a husband, wife, and new neighbour. Mister Joshi (the husband) is left alone at his house after his wife Malti Joshi goes away for a week to visit her parents.

Coincidentally a beautiful model named Shanti Bhatnagar shifts next door, immediately after Malti leaves. Fun-filled flirting leads to an imaginary romantic situation between Joshi and Shanti. Joshi receives an uninvited guest, Dr Sharma, a psychiatrist, who intends to pay a surprise visit to his patient Malti.

However, after an unconventional encounter, he becomes suspicious that Joshi is having an affair. The misunderstanding and confusion between these characters lead to hilarious situations that are bound to keep the audience on a laugh riot.

“After doing Shaadi Ki Kirkiri, I hadn’t done comedy for a while and now that people are returning to theatre I felt I should treat them to some light hearted, rib-tickling comedy,” says Zafer Mohiuddin, the director of the play, who has adapted it from Marathi which was originally written by playwright Suresh Khare.
