Son of BJP leader picked up for drunken assault on restaurant staff

Bengaluru: A BJP leader's son and at least 15 others have been booked for allegedly assaulting the staff of a popular eatery in the city for denying them food. The incident occurred around 11:30 pm on November 20 when a group of twenty youth who were allegedly drunk, approached a village restaurant near Niladri Road in Electronic City and ordered food.

As it was closing time, the staff denied services and asked them to come the next day. However, the group got enraged and started arguing with the staffers before allegedly assaulting a few of them. The assault was captured by one of the staffers on camera and later, the restaurant employees registered a complaint with Electronic City police.

An FIR was filed later based on the complaint. The video which has now gone viral, was scanned by the police and after a week of intense investigation, the police tracked the youth involved in the incident.

Now according to sources, one of the accused has been identified as Dhanush, son of BJP leader KC Ramachandra, who is also a former Zilla Panchayat president. An officer from the Electronic City police station told News Trail that an inquiry is underway and the accused are being interrogated.
