Mysuru professor gets TWAS fellowship

Mysuru: Professor of the University of Mysore KS Rangappa has received the fellowship of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).

TWAS is a programme that was launched by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in 1983 and currently has 1,296 scientists from more than 100 countries. It is based in Trieste in Italy.

Rangappa has published 150 papers and owns 11 patents, of which two have been commercialised. The professor also holds distinctions such as being the science and technology ambassador of Hokkaidu University.

Notably, Rangappa was the only Indian scientist nominated to the body in 2022 and the only one from Karnataka in the history of TWAS.
