Bengaluru: Even as the rains influenced by the cyclone Mandous fade away, a low pressure area had developed, this time in the Arabian Sea, which may bring some showers to parts of Karnataka.

An official India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the weather system was somewhat close to north Karnataka and is likely to intensify.

“Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over north Kerala and neighbourhood, a low pressure area has formed over Eastcentral and adjoining South-east Arabian Sea off north Karnataka coasts. It is very likely to move westnorthwestwards away from India coast and become a well-marked low pressure area over Eastcentral and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea by December 14 morning and concentrate into a depression over East-central Arabian Sea around December 15 morning,” the IMD statement said.

Bengaluru city limits experienced rainfall of only 0.7 mm on Tuesday. Magadi town in Ramanagara district, Rayalpadu village in Kolar district, Kampli town in Ballari district, Jnanabharathi Bangalore University Campus and Yagati village in Chikkamagaluru district received 3 cms of rain each, the highest in the state
