Ejipura: The same, never-ending pang of tardy civic works

Bengaluru: ‘Walking the streets so long... Singing the same old song.’The next I wake up to an injured knee, broken shoe and gnashers. The Ejipura area is plagued by tedious and prolonged constructions. The roads of Ashwini layout lay broken and ignored.
The current fixation of storm water drains in the area has not only caused havoc to business owners and residents but have also become a hor ror dream to pedestrians. On my way to the 1st main road in the evening, I was faced by a wobbly wooden bridge which rested on a slippery gravel, between which lay open the drains of Koramangala.
Unsure of how I would cross the bridge, I asked a stranger for help, he helped me cross the bridge by extending his arm and placing some weight onto the board to keep it stable. I held his hand and with calculated steps made it across, unfortunately, a rock with a tipped end scratched my shoe, resulting in a fall on the main road.
I took a minute to process the fall and sprung back on my feet, I crossed the road and noticed that my pants were torn, I went on to lift my pants and saw blood dripping from my knees which extended to my feet alongside a completely broken toe nail which was laden with blood too.
As I was visiting a friend, I called for help and got my wound dresses. As per the locals, the work by the storm water drain authority has been under full swing from the past one month with an on and off attendance of workers. The road blockage has caused traffic congestion within the residential area during rush hours.
The residents have been getting injured on a regular basis and most of them have been unable to conduct business. Wonder how many more will have to suffer under the wrath of these ignorant civic authorities?
