Mosque Road lies in disrepair, as authorities turn a blind eye

Bengaluru: The infamous roads of Frazer Town have become a menace to residents, office-goers, and schoolchildren. The severely damaged roads have led to citizens sustaining physical injuries.
The mosque road bus stand has a lot of dangerous, broken portions which has caused children to cross these dangerous pathways, thereby taking grave risks in order to get to school which is right behind the bus stop.
The issue was first noticed and raised by Social Activist and the organiser for Frazer Town Residents Welfare Association (FTRWA), Habiba Subhan in a youtube video she made addressing the authorities to take strict action and to resume the maintenance work in the area.
"The issue was brought up in ward meetings in the presence of nodal officers but no action has been taken by any of the civic authorities and the blame game has festered and plagued the old roads and localities of Frazer Town,” Habiba said.
Officials claim that some of the concrete footpaths that were laid in the area were stolen which does not quite explain the broken concrete slabs that are now dwelling on the drains with piled-up garbage on them.
This is not only a breeding ground for mosquitos but also becomes a hindrance for sewage systems that lie below these broken paths. The built-up of traffic during rush hours has made the lives of pedestrians a living hell, with no pedestrian pathways in place.
