Cold wave: Mercury dips to 8.8 degrees in Bidar

Bidar: India Meteorological Department (IMD) disclosed that Bidar recorded the lowest minimum temperature in Karnataka at 8.8 degrees Celsius on Friday.
The weather department added that cold wave conditions were observed on Friday in Bidar, Bagalkote, Mysore and Davanagere districts and would likely continue on Saturday. The mercury dipped to 8.8 degrees Celsius in Bagalkote on Friday. Meanwhile, Mysuru and Davangere recorded minimum temperatures of 9 degrees Celsius and 9.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Dry weather prevailed over the state. Cold wave conditions prevailed over Bidar and Bagalkote districts of north interior Karnataka and Mysore and Davanagere districts of south interior Karnataka,” an official IMD statement said, adding that people, especially the old and the infirm should exercise caution as temperature dips.
Bengaluru recorded the minimum temperature of 13.4 degrees Celsius on Friday. On Wednesday, temperature dipped to 13 degrees in the city, the coldest recorded temperature in Bengaluru for the last four years.
