Bengaluru: The Ashok Nagar police arrested a 37-year-old mechanic after solving another brutal murder mystery in the city. On Monday a woman was found dead, with stab injuries on her neck, at her house near Nanjappa Circle here. Preliminary police investigation revealed that a few neighbours saw a man fleeing from her house.
The deceased was identified as Kausar Mubeen, 34, a teacher. It was learnt that she was living with her daughter after being separated from her husband two years ago. She had been taking tuition classes for schoolchildren at her house. During this time, she came into contact with a person, identified as Nadeem Pasha, and strikes a friendship with him which later developed into intimacy.
According to sources, both had planned to marry soon. It was said that Pasha was an auto-rickshaw driver before going abroad to seek employment. Returning after several years, he had taken up a job as a mechanic, police said.
Sources from Ashok Nagar police said that on Monday around 3 pm, Pasha visited Mubeen with a gift as it was her birthday. However, an argument ensued between the two over a trivial matter which turned ugly. An enraged Pasha attacked Mubeen with a knife and stabbed her multiple times in her neck before fleeing the house.
"Following an initial investigation, we had suspected the woman's earlier husband to be the accused. However, an intensified probe led us in the right direction, and we nabbed the absconding accused," an officer said.
