Police crack bizman's murder case

Bengaluru: Two days after a businessman was found murdered near Nayandahalli Circle, the city police have tracked down the accused, who is said to be one of the close friends to the family.

It was reported that Liyaquat Ali Khan, 44, was allegedly killed over a financial dispute and his body was found inside his second house near Nayandahalli Circle during the early hours of Wednesday. The family had expressed suspicion over three of Liyaquat's friends based on which the cops began a probe. The accused was identified as Ilyas Khan, 25, whom Liyaquat treated like his own brother, according to sources.

During the investigation, the police noticed blood stains on Liyaquat’s body and sent the sample to the Forensic Laboratory. They had also recovered a pair of scissors from the scene. The report of blood sample and fingerprints on the scissor turned out to be that of the accused, sources from the police told News Trail.

Sources also added that the accused, Ilyas has not been arrested yet as he is undergoing treatment after consuming thyroid tablets in his attempt to commit suicide in fear of getting arrested. A case of IPC 309 (suicide attempt) has been registered at J J Nagar police station. Further investigation is underway
