EC measures to ensure higher voter turnout

Bengaluru: The Election Commission here plans to provide transportation and collaborate with organizations to encourage citizens to exercise their democratic rights and vote in large numbers in the ensuing assembly elections in the state.

The State Election Commission is making a concerted effort to increase voter turnout for the upcoming elections. Given that the voting percentage has been low in the past, the commission is initiating various measures to encourage citizens to vote and engage in the democratic process.

One of the initiatives being under taken by the State Election Commission is to provide transportation to senior citizens and people with disabilities to help them reach the polling stations. Additionally, campaig ns and awareness drives will be organized to educate people about the significance of voting and encourage them to participate.

The commission is also collaborating with various organizations, including NGOs and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), to ensure maximum participation in the elections.
