Bengaluru: An incident of a youth in an inebriated state continuing to drive his car even after one of the tyres burst has come to light. The youth is said to have continued to drive for over 10 km, despite sparks emanating from the rim as it came in contact with the road surface. The car was brought to a halt only after the wheel joint collapsed.

The incident occurred early on Saturday morning and was noticed by a night patrol team. The recklessly driving youth was on his way from Indiranagar to Banaswadi when the cops spotted him and gave chase. However, they were unable to catch up due to the high speed with which the car was being driven.

When the car finally came to a halt at the Muniyappa Circle in Banaswadi, the jurisdiction police caught hold of the youth and immediately seized his vehicle. He was then taken in a Hoysala patrol vehicle but was let off without a case being registered, only in a span of half-an-hour. Sources said that the youth was taken away in another luxury car that had shown up to pick him up.
