Woman attempts suicide from atop police station

Chikkamagaluru: Police rescued a woman who attempted to end her life by jumping off the roof of the Mudigere Police Station here on Friday. The woman has been identified as Shilpa, a resident of old Mudigere.

Reportedly, a complaint had been filed against Shilpa for allegedly assaulting a female police personnel in the station last year. As Shilpa failed to appear for the court hearing, summons had been issued against her.

Fed up with this, Shilpa attempted suicide by climbing on top of the station. She was, however, rescued and counselled by the police. A video of the incident is going viral on social media.
