Heatwave to abate in southern interior Karnataka

Bengaluru: The southern interior of Karnataka is to witness 1.5-2.0c, above the normal temperature, while Bengaluru is to continue being at 35-35c. However, the Indian Meteorological Department and independent weather forecasters in the state have predicted that the trend to come down and heat waves to abate later this week, expecting a thunderstorm rain to begin in Malnad.
According to the IMD, Kalaburgi in Karnataka has witnessed a maximum temperature of 40.7c. It also said rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places over Belagavi, Bidar, Kalaburgi, Raichur, Yadgir and Vijayapura districts of North Interior Karnataka. In South Interior Karnataka, the department expects rains at isolated places in Ballari, Chikkamagaluru, and Kodagu districts.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru recorded 36c on April 16 and it was 19.7c during the night, which is almost -3 from the normal temperature. The department expects 20c during the nighttime on April 17. Bengaluru HAL and other places recorded 34.8c and 34.9c on April 16. Health experts suggest light clothes, consumption of a lot of fluids and unnecessarily stepping out as some of the effective steps to follow this summer.
“Lassi, watermelons, lemons, and water are the recommended liquids to consume during the summer to keep hydrated and healthy. It is better to avoid the consumption of carbonated drinks”, said the experts
