Police to expel 45 rowdy-sheeters from city

Bengaluru: With only a few more days left for the Assembly elections in the State, Bengaluru police is taking appropriate measures to maintain peace and order during the polls.
According to sources from the police, the department has decided to expel around 45 notorious rowdy-sheeters from the city. The sources further said that the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCPs) of the respective divisions in Bengaluru have already issued orders to expel 12 history-sheeters until the completion of the elections in the state.
Preparations are underway to expel 33 more such offenders within a week. The police have zeroed in on around 12 rowdysheeters from East Division, six from West, five from South East, four from Central Division, four from North East, five from Whitefield division, five from North and four rowdy-sheeters from South divisions.
Recently, rowdy-sheeter Nagaraju alias Wilson Garden Naga was exiled from the city based on orders issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Division, Laxman Nimbargi. He was in the news after he visited BJP Minister V Somanna’s house a couple of months ago. However, after the incident, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai clarified that BJP won’t support those with criminal backgrounds.
Another history-sheeter, Manjunath alias Mola, of Amruthahalli Police Station limits was exiled from the city last year. When he violated the order and reentered the city, the police initiated the Goonda Act on him.
