Modi mentioning Cong pre-poll guarantees indicates BJP's nervousness: DKS

Bengaluru: The fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been compelled to speak about the Congress party’s pre-poll guarantees proves ruling BJP is nervous and in the grip of fear of being defeated in the ensuing assembly polls in Karnataka, said KPCC Chief D K Shivakumar on Thursday here.

Addressing a news conference at the Congress Bhavan, Shivakumar reminded Modi and BJP leaders that the Congress party had not promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh in each person’s bank account, create 2 crore jobs per year and doubling farmers income. Congress guarantees pertain to the basic needs of the people and their problems.

What we have promised to do through the Four Guarantees is supplying 200 units of free power to all domestic consumers per month, cash payment of Rs 2000 each per housewife per month to woman heading households, 10 kg of rice per head per month under Annabhagya and cash allowance of Rs 3,000 per month to all graduate unemployed youth and Rs 1,500 per month per unemployed diploma holders,’’ he said and promised that unlike the BJP the Congress would keep its promises.
