Get rich quick, fall victim fast

As experiments go, a solo-actor film is something Kannada makers have tried before with varying degrees of success. Baraguru Ramachandrappa’s Shanti with Bhavana made it to the record books. More recently, there was Dayal Padmanabhan’s, Actor, with Naveen Krishna. Now, Anand Raj tries his hand at creating a suspense-thriller in this format.

It is quite a challenging task that he and actor Vijay Raghavendra have embarked on. Vijay Raghavendra plays a medicine delivery executive, Raaghu, who is tempted to the easier way of making money; stealing. He has all the dreams people without money can have but not the resources to fulfill them. He joins hands with his pal Munna in this thieving endeavor.

The ultimate goal is to settle down in Dubai with his girlfriend Jennifer. But Munna has other plans and Raaghu is trapped in a do-or-die situation in which he has to accomplish several tasks to save Jennifer. The USP of the film is that there is no other character visible on screen apart from Vijay Raghavendra. They are just voices he is speaking to.

This poses an immense challenge in film making that the director has handled with a minutely detailed script. Helping him execute this are the cinematographer Uday Leela, whose work in this film is outstanding. As the story is set to unfold in a single night, there is an inevitable rush in the narration. Ritvik Muralidhar’s background score helps the film maintain the tempo that is required for a thriller.
