Bengaluru: Bangalore University has achieved a significant milestone by receiving an A++ grade with a CGPA of 3.75 from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its fourth cycle.
This accomplishment makes it the first state public university in Karnataka to attain such a high grade. A press conference was convened at Jnanan Jyothi Convention Hall on June 12, where Prof Dr Jayakara S M, the Vice-chancellor of Bangalore University addressed the gathering. He said, “The university has demonstrated excellence in various areas, including curriculum, teaching and learning, research, infrastructure, student support, and governance.”
He added how the university has consistently strived to improve its academic standards and become a role model for other public universities. Over the past five years, the university has introduced innovative initiatives such as digital evaluation systems, new courses, research projects, and support for marginalized students. The NAAC peer team commended the university's achievements in infrastructure, academics, and human resource management.
This recognition not only enhances the university's visibility but also increases the employability of its students. With the A++ grade, the university will now gain autonomy in establishing off-campus centers, offering online courses, participating in student exchange programs, and accessing increased funding opportunities.
The VC further added that Bangalore University will now aim to continue its pursuit of academic excellence, global competency, inter nationalisation, community engagement, and collaboration with institutions of excellence. The university's commitment to research, social responsibility, and inclusive practices has further strengthened its reputation.
