Fee structure will remain unaltered: Dr M C Sudhakar

Bengaluru: The results of Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET-23) for admissions to various engineering, medical and other professional courses held in May were announced on Thursday. As many as 2,03,381 students have secured eligibility for Engineering and Technology courses against the 2,44,345 candidates who appeared for the test this year.
The results were announced by Higher Education Minister Dr M C Sudhakar at a press conference here. He said that as many 1,14,565 boys and 1,29,780 girls appeared for the exams conducted at 592 centres across the state against the 2,61,610 candidates applied to write the test this year. The minister said that there was confusion about fees for engineering courses. He said the decision taken by the previous government to increase the fees by 10 percent would remain unaltered.
Sudhakar stated that a total of 1.1 lakh seats were available for engineering courses for the current year and out of which 53,248 seats would be allotted under the government quota. The minister further added that 25,171 seats would be available through COMED-K and 33,463 seats under management quota. Entry of marks enabled till June 17.
