Croak! First festival of frogs in Sagar

Bengaluru: They’re an indeterminate shade of green, and seen as slimy. But frogs are vital to maintaining the fragile balance of the rainforest. Little wonder that Karnataka Forest Department will host the country’s first ‘festival of frogs’ in Sagar Taluk. The festival will be held on December 18 and 19, at the Muppane nature camp.

Environmentalists will also pass a resolution urging the government to declare the Malabar Tree Toad as the state frog.
