Bengaluru: The new initiative of the Bengaluru Airport Authority of having a ‘Family toilet’ at the newly opened Terminal 2 of the Bengaluru airport has drawn applause from the passengers as they find their travel smooth and easy by accessing it.

According to the Airport Authorities, they built Terminal 2, which they say is a garden terminal at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, to accommodate the increasing passenger traffic. It is India’s first greenfield airport terminal built under a public-private partnership and has a lot of facilities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the terminal built at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore. While it attracts passengers, the new initiative of building a family toilet on the premise has come as a welcome move. Siva Subramaniam Jayaraman, a passenger who travelled, took to Twitter and said it was a world of difference for him and added such initiatives are needed more in the public places.

“I witnessed an incredible facility called 'Family toilet' at new Bengaluru Airport today. As a parent travelling with kids, it made a world of difference! As a father, I know the difficulties of taking my daughter to the restroom while travelling. We need more in public places”, he tweeted Many passengers who are unaware of the initiative have also applauded and said it was a good idea.

“It is a very good idea and indeed a great initiative. We need to keep the facilities maintained properly and not let such a world-class initiative go waste with our collective mismanaging mentality”, commented a passenger. Spread over a total area of 2,55,645 square metres, Phase 1 of T-2 has a capacity of 25 million passengers per annum.
