Traffic police strict about speed limit on Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway

Bengaluru: To increase road safety and reduce the number of accidents on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, the police in Ramanagara have implemented measures to address speeding violations.

The cops have installed barricades on the highway and are using speed radar guns to check the speed of vehicles.

Starting from Monday, the Ramanagara police have been registering cases against drivers who exceed the speed limit. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Traffic and Road Safety Alok Kumar shared the information on Twitter, stating that cases will be registered for vehicles travelling at excessive speeds on the Expressway.

He commended the Ramanagara SP and his team for taking up the initiative. Kumar emphasised on the importance of obeying traffic rules to save lives, rather than simply trying to avoid fines.

It's worth noting that there has been public outcry over the high toll charges on the highway. Recently, a second toll collection point was introduced at Ganangur, requiring motorists to pay a toll fee of Rs 320 in all to travel by car from Bengaluru to Mysuru.

In addition to the toll charges, drivers exceeding the speed limit will have to pay a fine, as enforced by the police.
