Bengaluru: Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has recently launched a new social media platform called Threads.
Threads is designed to be a more personal and intimate platform than Facebook, and it is aimed at Gen Z users. Threads has become the first ever application to see over 1 million users in 1 hour, followed by Open AI’s ChatGPT which saw 1 million users in 5 days.
Bengaluru, India is one of the cities where Threads has been rolled out, and there has been a mixed reaction to the platform from Beng alurians. Somepeople have been excited about the prospect of a new social media platform that is designed for their generation, while others have been more skeptical.
Threads can be linked to the user’s Instagram account making it uncomplicated for the users to link their bio, profile and followers.
One of the main concerns that Bengalurians have about Threads is that it is owned by Meta. Meta has been criticised for its data collection practices, and some people are worried that Threads will be used to collect even more data about users.
Some users are also concerned about the terms and conditions section of the Threads app as it is asking for permission to have access to all other applications on the user’s mobile such as camera, audio, contacts and so on.
Another concern is that Threads is not as featurerich as other social media platforms. For example, Threads does not have a Stories feature, which is a popular feature on other platforms. Threads is also Meta’s Twitter rival and has features similar and better to Twitter.
Here is the comparison of Threads and Twitter in paragraph form While Threads and Twitter are both social media platfor ms that allow users to share short messa g es with their followers, Threads has a character limit of 500, while Twitter’s character limit is 280.
This means that you can share longer messages on Threads, which can be helpful for sharing more detailed information or stories. Threads is also a more private platfor m than Twitter. By default, only your followers can see your Threads.
Twitter, on the other hand, has a wider range of features than Threads. You can tweet videos, photos, GIFs, and even live stream on Twitter. Twitter is also a more public platform than Threads.
This can be a good option if you want to share your thoughts and ideas with a wider audience. Ultimately, the best platform for users will depend on individual needs and preferences. Despite these concerns, there are also some people who are excited about Threads.
They believe that the platform’s focus on personal and intimate communication is a breath of fresh air, and they are looking forward to using it to connect with friends.
