Police serves notice to Kerehalli after puja call

Bengaluru: In yet another attempt to seek publicity, a murder-accused who was released on conditional bail, Puneet Kerehalli, has put out an open invitation on his social media handle asking people to join him in the worship of Naga Deva at a Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)-owned ground in Upparpet here.

However, before Kerehalli could proceed with his arrangement, Bengaluru Police served him a notice asking him to get the required permission from the authorities to host the event at a BBMP ground.

Kerehalli and four of his accomplices were arrested from Rajasthan on April 5, where they had fled after allegedly murdering Idrees Pasha, 39, a cattle trader from Sathanur on the night of March 31.

However, he was granted conditional bail by the High Court. Despite warnings, the self-styled ‘cow-vigilante’ has been active on his social media handle sharing his provocative speeches against the current Congress government.

Earlier he had been sharing video clips of him and his accomplices torturing cattle traders and later allegedly extorting them.
