Youth succumbs to burn injuries

Bengaluru: An 18-year-old student, who was battling for his life after being set on fire by his uncle over a love affair, succumbed to the burn injuries at a hospital her on Tuesday.

The deceased Shashank was a resident of Rajarajeshwari Nagar here and was studying computer science to graduate as an engineer.

On Saturday morning, Shashank was allegedly abducted from RR Nagar and taken to an isolated place near Kaniminike Toll Plaza in Kumbalgodu by a gang who allegedly poured petrol on him before setting him on fire.

According to sources, the youngster had sustained 85 per cent burn injuries.
