Bengaluru: On July 18, the police apprehended three individuals who were allegedly involved in displaying posters against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in various locations across the city.

The men responsible for this act have been identified as Sriram, Mohan and Nandakumar. The incident came to light when several posters targeting Nitish Kumar appeared in different parts of the city, particularly on routes leading to a private hotel on Race Course where a meeting of opposition leaders took place.

In response, the High Grounds police initiated an investigation and launched a search operation to find the culprits.

According to the police, the accused had placed banners mocking the Bihar CM at approximately 20 locations within the city. Sriram was reported to have collected funds from his friends to finance the printing of the posters, which were then produced at Nandakumar's printing press.

The flexes used for the posters were transported in a mini-tempo owned by Mohan. All three individuals arrested reside in Sheshadripuram. The posters displayed derogatory messages, referring to Nitish Kumar as 'The Unstable Prime Ministerial contender' and highlighting issues with infrastructure in Bihar during his tenure.

The intention behind these posters seemed to question his capability to lead the 'Opposition unity' campaign.

The opposition leaders held their second meeting in Bengaluru on July 17 and 18 to strategize ways to counter the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which are scheduled to take place by May 2024.
