Bengaluru: A video has gone viral on social media, depicting a heated altercation between a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BTMC) conductor and a passenger.
In the video, both individuals can be seen exchanging slaps. According to the ticket collector, the passenger referred to as a 'North Indian migrant' in a tweet, had not paid the fare and was using disrespectful language towards him.
The tweet said “We've come so far that, North Indian migrant attacking BMTC government employee on duty for asking him to buy ticket and travel. Bengaluru is on the verge of becoming a colony of UP/Bihar. God save Kannadigas.”
In the video, the passenger is seen verbally abusing the conductor in Hindi, leading to a physical altercation between the two. Despite attempts by two women to intervene and stop the fight, both parties continued to exchange blows.
The conductor later informs the woman that the passenger had refused to pay the fare and misbehaved with him. Subsequently, the bus driver also joins the altercation and slaps the passenger.
Both the driver and conductor can be heard discussing the idea of taking the passenger to the police station.
The incident has caught the attention of Bengaluru city police, who have requested the person responsible for the initial tweet to provide precise details regarding the location of the incident.
