PM overlooked BSY family in Red Fort ‘political speech’: Siddu

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday objected to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “political speech” at the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day.
The Congress satrap added that Modi had targeted the Grand Old Party over “family politics” but ignored BJP’s own political families like that of former CM BS Yediyurappa whose two sons are lawmakers.
Siddaramaiah pointed out that BJP had shared power with other families like that of Deve Gowda (JDS) and the Muftis of Kashmir, among others.
“Prime Minister Shri @ narendramodi, It is unfortunate you chose to make political statements in the Independence Day speech instead of speaking about the issues of national importance and common people. People can understand the reason behind your silence on important issues like violence in Manipur, price rise and its impact on common people, natural disasters in many parts of the country. Your display of apathy reflects your concern for people,” Siddaramaiah posted on the micro-blogging site X.
“You raised the issue of family politics during the Independence Day speech to target Congress while conveniently forgetting the history of family politics in @BJP4India. Is this your individual opinion or your party's? What do you have to say about the Yediyurappa family, Jarkiholi family, Katti family, Jolle, Nirani, Reddy and other families? Did they not contest from BJP?” he added.
“Did you forget the family politics argument when you tried to unethically destabilize stable governments? Have you not enjoyed power with the Devegowda family in Karnataka, Thackeray family in Maharashtra, Chautala family in Himachal, Mufti family in Kashmir, Badal family in Punjab and others?” Siddaramaiah posted.
