Emulate Bhagat, Netaji, says student org

Tumakuru: All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) concluded its eighth state-level students’ conference in Tumakuru on Sunday, calling upon students everywhere to follow the path of revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose.

AIDSO All India General Secretary Sourav Ghosh said: “We should be determined to realise the dream of revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh, Netaji, who made this country a superior society by wiping the tears of the oppressed people who are oppressed in the name of poverty, caste, religion etc.”

“Further, due to the unprecedented struggle of AIDSO and the people of Karnataka, the State government withdrew the NEP (National Education Policy) 2020. Through this, the students of Karnataka have given priority to the struggle against NEP,” he added.

During this conference, the new AIDSO Karnataka State Council of 395 members including representatives from 31 districts of the state were elected.

Ashwini KS was elected as State President, Ajay Kamath as Secretary and Manmantu, Abhya Diwakar, Sneha Kattimani, Chandrakala, Apoorva CM as Vice President, Subhash BJ as Treasurer and Mahantesh B as Office Secretary were elected along with various office bearers K Uma, State Secretary of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI), said: “As said by one of the great Marxist thinkers of this era and revolutionaries of the freedom struggle, Comrade Shibdas Ghosh, students and youth are always at the forefront of social change. In this context, you have to take up the historical role of liberating education from the clutches of the few and bringing it to the slums of the oppressed for centuries because education is not the property of a few.”
