Woman writes to state authorities, demanding justice for deceased sister

Bengaluru: Demanding justice, a woman has written to the Karnataka Home Minister and other authorities accusing a man of abetting the suicide of her sister, while also alleging the police inaction in the matter.

The woman, Simran Banu, in her letter to the authorities, has accused Abrar Shiekh who is said to be a social media influencer, to have given her sister, Muskaan, a false commitment of marriage and later ignoring her.

She alleged that Muskaan had recently attempted suicide by consuming poison and died at hospital on September 11.

The woman further said that the accused had also stolen Muskaan's mobile phone which had all the evidence to prove him guilty in the matter without which, the jurisdictional police station in Puttenahalli refused to register a case, she alleged in her complaint.

The woman has also sent a copy of the letter to the National Commission for Women, Chief Justice of Karnataka and the Bengaluru Police Commissioner's office.
