Rakesh Venugopal Returns to Big Screen with a Thriller

Bengaluru: Rakesh Venugopal, known for his successful career in Tamil films and serials, is making a comeback to the silver screen after a hiatus, this time in a Kannada film.
He is set to feature in filmmaker Ravindra Venshi's latest project, "Case No.21," an action-packed thriller. In the film, Rakesh assumes the role of Arjun, a suave police officer, and the shooting has recently concluded.
Produced by Rajarathna Studios, this film marks a pivotal moment in Rakesh's career.
Speaking exclusively to News Trail, he expressed his excitement, saying, "I was away from the industry for a little while, and this film has provided me with the perfect opportunity for a grand comeback. The project's intricate and unique storyline immediately piqued my interest, and I couldn't turn it down. I couldn't have asked for a better comeback."
Rakesh has previously exhibited his versatility and charismatic presence in television and films. Hailing from Bangalore, he swiftly established himself in the Tamil entertainment industry.
With a series of successful movies, Tamil serials, and short films to his name, Rakesh rapidly built a dedicated fan base. He reflected on his journey into the world of serials and films, saying, "I began with short films, just like most aspiring artists today. My background in modeling provided me with a strong foundation and valuable experience in front of the camera. People might assume that modeling is the stepping stone to the film industry, but it's not always as straightforward as it appears. I encountered my fair share of challenges, but my deter mination and unwavering dedication kept me going."
Rakesh fondly recalls some of his standout works, including "Undo," "PK Vs MB," and the romantic comedy "Sappa Kadhal."
He remarked, "These projects allowed me to showcase my versatility and, more importantly, caught the attention of industry insiders. Lead roles in Tamil serials played a significant role in establishing my identity, and from there, I transitioned into films."
Building on his success, Rakesh continued to climb the industry ladder, eventually featuring in movies. His most recent Tamil release, "Natakam," was a resounding success and was also picked up by Amazon Prime, solidifying his presence in the Tamil film scene.
Now, with "Case No.21," Rakesh is poised to make his mark in Kannada cinema. He expressed his deep connection to Bengaluru, his hometown, saying, "I was born and raised here. It took me some time to break into the Kannada film industry, but this is home, and I couldn't be prouder."
