Bengaluru: Director Santhosh Kondenkeri’s latest is a dramedy titled Ravike Prasanga (Fable of the Blouse). It stars singer and television star Geetha Bharathi Bhat.

After the launch of the film’s music album and its success, the film team is gearing up for the release of the film soon. The protagonist here is a wannabe bride who wants her outfit to be perfect.

When the tailor goofs up with the blouse, she takes him to court. The plot revolves around the aftermath. News Trail caught up with the actress to learn more about this upcoming movie.

Apart from Geetha, the film also stars Suman Ranganath, Rakesh Maiyya, Sampath Maithria, Padmaja Rao and Kushi Achar among others.

Q. Is Ravike Prasanga an oddball film?

A. You can make a film with a housefly as the protagonist or even an object can become the central character. A movie where a blouse is the main object may at first sound risqué but even though it is a sensitive subject, the film has been crafted in a way that is not embarrassing or uncomfortable to the audience.

The credit for this goes to the director Santhosh Kondenkeri and the writer Pavana Santhosh.

Q. The title song of the film has gone viral…

A. I was nervous and excited before the launch of the music album of the film last week. The launch event was goose bump moment for me. There was a large crowd and it was somewhat similar to watching the film with the audience.

The reaction was fantastic and I was lost for words. Though we see the actors on screen in the song, it’s the efforts of so many others that matter. The title song of Ravike Prasanga is my first-ever movie song and so holds a special place in my heart.

I had high expectations on the outcome and it has been justified.

Q. What is the premise of Ravike Prasanga?

A. Grooming is a passionate indulgence of most women. A saree is not only a traditional outfit but beautiful attire that enhances one’s beauty.

A blouse compliments this outfit and most times becomes more important than the saree. Even if there is a problem with the saree, it becomes manageable, but the blouse has to be always perfect.

The protagonist here is a wannabe bride who wants her outfit to be perfect. When the tailor goofs up with the blouse, she takes him to court. The plot revolves around the aftermath.

Q. This is something every woman would want to do?

A. I have had my fair share of quarrels with tailors. Yes this is something every woman would be familiar with. Even when most outfits are readymade, the perfect blouse for a saree is something you depend on the tailor.

Q. How is the transition from the small screen to the big screen?

A. Films haven’t been alien to me. I have acted in small roles. But playing lead roles in movies was never contemplated. Now that I am here, I hope to make the best of it and hopefully the audience would like to see me in more such films.
