Bengaluru: In a series of intriguing incidents, customs officials at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) have successfully uncovered 1.13 kg of gold with a total value of Rs 67 lakh.

One Indian female passenger, who had just arrived from Kuala Lumpur, concealed approximately 300 gm of gold paste within the reverse side of her blouse, hidden beneath the inner lining cloth.

A male passenger arriving from Kuwait had an equally crafty approach, stashing small gold pieces weighing about 250 gm (worth Rs 15 lakh) within a box of dry fruits.

The officials also discovered an iPhone alongside the concealed gold. In the third incident, an Indian female passenger returning from Malaysia was found with 578 gm of gold, valued at Rs 34 lakh.

These instances demonstrate the creative lengths people go to for smuggling precious metals and valuables.
