Traffic chaos, commuter woes, and WC showdown as rain paralyzes city

Bengaluru: Heavy rainfall and strong winds winds lashed Bengaluru on Saturday evening, leading to water-logging and significant disruptions in traffic across various parts of the city.

The downpour severely impacted the commuters and traffic police. The Whitefield traffic police, through their official social media account, shared a post showcasing a traffic constable managing the traffic while a fallen tree was being moved in Whitefield main road, located near a Bata shop.

The city's traffic authorities have reported extensive flooding along the stretch from Bellandur to Ecospace, leading to severe traffic congestion.

Similar instances of water logging have been reported at crucial junctures such as the VarthurWhitefield main road, the Panathur Railway Underpass, and the DB Halli road towards Sakra Hospital.

In areas such as Cantonment, Marathahalli, HBR Layout, Siddhapura, and Jayanagar, heavy rainfall has resulted in sluggish traffic, compelling commuters to divert onto secondary routes for their journeys.

The rains also spoiled the crucial World Cup played between New Zealand and Pakistan at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The match, which had fans on the edge of their seats, was left disappointed to see a proper end, as Pakistan ran away with victory. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that the city is likely to continue experiencing widespread rainfall for the next three days.
